On Monday I was contacted by a Lead Pastor looking for advice because he had dozens of teenagers randomly wandering into his building. It actually wasn’t random at all; they were all playing Pokémon GO and his church was a major location in the game. Pokémon GO has taken the world by storm and the church has a great opportunity before it. In just a few days, the game is already beating Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat in internet traffic. We shouldn’t simply view this as a game, or the latest trendy fad, but as an opportunity to engage our local culture and build bridges for the Gospel.
